Yokohama invited several customers and press representatives to the Nürburgring in order to make them take part in a one-day summer driving event. The presentation focused on the new products ADVAN FLEVA V701, Geolandar A/T G015 and ADVAN A052, which had already been launched at the Geneva Motor Show and had continuously been introduced in several sizes in the market.

“Yokohama is able to look back at a long tradition and has always been trying to further develop products. 80 per cent of turnover is generated in the tyre division”, explains Maren Koschel, a Yokohama employee. The tyre manufacturer disposes of a warehouse, workshop and office at the Nürburgring. At this place, the invited guests went through different test sections, which focused on noise development, dry handling, wet performance or off-road features. Yokohama was rather self-confident as its new product novelties had to perform in comparison with other premium tyres. Ingo Kärcher, responsible for technology and tuning at Yokohama Reifen GmbH, explained the development of the respective products, its technologies and differences compared with other treads. “The development of the ADVAN FLEVA V701 was based on the ADVAN Sport V105.  The shape comes from the premium area, the performance, however is different”, added Kärcher. 43 sizes are planned for the beginning of 2017. A detailed report on the product novelties will follow in the print edition of AutoRäderReifen-Gummibereifung.
